GRADED ASSIGNMENT #2

Students will measure, draw and stitch two parabola lines within a square and a triangle using atleast three colours of embroidery threads and needle. Students are responsible for measuring and drawing their own shapes in class to complete this assignment. 

How to draw shapes and label your sqaure and triangle: 
1. Each side of the square and triangle should measure 4 inches in length
2. After drawing the shapes, the 0 point of the ruler is place at a corner of the shape being labelled. Students will put a point at every 0.5 inches (0.5", 1", 1.5", 2", 2.5", 3", 3.5" 4"). This will be done at every side of each shape. 
3. After inserting points, students will place numbers in the appropriate positions as learnt from previous worksheets and using the teacher's example below. 

THE TEACHER WILL DEMONSTRATE IN CLASS HOW STUDENTS WILL STITCH THEIR PARABOLIC LINES.

Grading Rubric

Both shapes measures 4” in size

4 marks

Points are 0.5” apart within the Square

1 mark

Points are 0.5” apart within the Triangle

1 mark

Parabolic Lines are correctly stitched (2 marks per side- 5 sides in total)

10 marks

Different colour threads used per side within each shape

5 marks

Work was presented neatly in sketchbooks

2 marks

Assignment handed in on time

2 marks

Total

25 marks
